The yellow fog is a famous symbol from the poem "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" by T. S. Eliot. It's one of my favorite poems because it's so symbolic and my personal interpretation epitomizes much of my philosophy toward life.

Within the poem is a "yellow fog." In many interpretations it's come to symbolize the decay of human society, closely emulating the smog of cities. This "fog" has come to be a symbol of my own life, as many symbols in the poem have.

The entire poem is from the viewpoint of a middle-aged man, going bald, sexually-frustrated, and wishes to bring upon change to his life by acting on his impulses, yet ultimately does not. This man laments and questions his philosophical insights toward society, acting almost disillusioned from it all. Yet, he is still too coward of others, expressing that he is truly worthless.

In the end, the man dies. Only to have lived out his life, never to have mermaids sing to him. To have grew old and bald, never living the life he wish he had.

Out of fear of becoming this man, I have made this blog. It will act as a personal record, a diary of sorts, where I shall entrust readers with the inner workings of both my mind and soul and body.

This is an attempt to better myself as a human. To blow away the yellow fog of life and to pursue the good life.
